House Corporation Update – Winter 2022

Brothers and friends,

It pleases me to report that Phi Kappa Psi continued to thrive in West Virginia in 2022. My top three reasons why our success continues: 1. Great Chapter Leadership; 2. Support from the Phi Kappa Psi Foundation; and 3. the work of a handful of hard-nosed alums who just plain get thing done!

In each category, I want to highlight an individual who exempli- fies the service for our Chapter to be the best on campus.

1. GP Luke Erny ’20
Luke interned in Charleston with TC Energy which allowed us to lunch together. He listened to the advice and needs of the alumni and it has paid dividends with the Chapter. Best wishes to Luke upon graduation in May, 2023.

2. Lee G. Fuller Ohio ’08
Among our numerous friends at the Foundation, Lee and I get to commiserate on the needs and limitations in our respective roles as House Corporation Presidents. Not getting his fill of the fraternity at work, Lee also volunteers with his Chapter at Ohio University in Athens. Hats off to Lee.

3. Gary K. Waters WVU ’74
Here is another guy whose career in the WVU Athletic Depart- ment (writing big checks to out-going coaches (kidding)) wasn’t quite enough. Gary has been our Treasurer for most of this century. It is a big job requiring patience and diligence. I greatly respect Gary for his long service.

Thank you, brothers! To keep the success going we have specific needs. First, participate in our Capital Campaign. Give more and spread your contributions out over 5 years. We cannot maintain our property and incent the best men to join WV Alpha without your sustained financial support.

Give today, please. And keep giving! You can give online at pkpfoundation.org/chapter-development-services/west-virginia-alpha/

Secondly, give time back to the Chapter. We need you as mentors, advisors, house corp. directors, landscapers…even just as an invested visitor to 780 Spruce Street to meet and let the undergraduate members know how sacred and increasingly valuable their college fraternity friendships will be over time. Help us to pass along that which you still cherish today.

Here is to a great 2023, and my best wishes to you.

Our strong band,
