Ohio Nu Commits to Service in Phi Psi 500

Last Spring, the brothers of Ohio Nu once again came together for one of our most meaningful chapter traditions—the Phi Psi 500. The goal is simple but impactful: complete 500 collective hours of community service. From campus events to hands-on community outreach, this initiative brought the chapter together to give back in a way that reflects our values.

Service hours were earned through a variety of events and volunteer opportunities around Athens and the surrounding area. Brothers participated in trash pickups throughout the city, volunteered at local community gardens, and helped organize canned food drives to support local food pantries. These efforts not only allowed us to support the community but also gave us the chance to spend time with one another outside of our usual routines.

On campus, we hosted some of our most popular philanthropy events to raise awareness and increase involvement. “Pie a Phi Psi” returned once again, giving students the chance to pie members in the face for a good cause. We also brought back the dunk tank, which drew strong participation and plenty of laughs, while helping raise funds for our selected local charities.

Each hour served, each dollar raised, and each event held reflected our chapter’s commitment to making a positive impact—not just during Greek Week or a single service day, but throughout the semester.

The Phi Psi 500 is more than just a goal we check off. It’s a reminder of what our Fraternity stands for and the role we play in the larger community. Whether it’s through small acts like trash pickup or larger events on campus, the message is the same: we’re here to do our part.
